    Roman Empire, 1st-2nd century A.D., Bronze ink well with the top ornately inlaid with niello inlay, floral type decoration, the body of the ink well is ribbed and with linear pattern, the base with concentric circle design, a pleasing patina over the whole piece.

    This is an exceptional example of a rare item used in early writing.
