    Near Eastern Spearhead

    1200-800 B.C

    Blade leaf-shaped in outline with prominent rounded mid-rib flanked by incised grooves running parallel on either side. Cylindrical section at base of blade with three V-shaped transverse ribs terminating in a shallow socket from which springs rectangular-sectioned 'rat-tailed' tang culminating in rectangular stud terminal.
