    c. 1220 A.D, France

    Superb illuminated folio; 50 lines on both obverse and reverse of latin Gothic textura script handwritten in black ink, with rubricated initials and marginalia in red and blue on animal vellum by monks in France during the time of the crusades.

    From an early medieval Bible, almost certainly used in the Abbey of St. Genevieve, Paris.
