    Roman Provincial Terracotta Cupid Lamp

    c. 2nd Century A.D

    Sunken central discus with winged cupid shooting arrow at snake in tree in sharp relief, with double incised perimeter and sloping shoulder. Channel with pseudo volutes, semi-circular nozzle and comparatively large wick hole.

    With makers mark 'LMADIEC'.
