    Northern Zhou Funerary Figure

    A.D 557-581

Rare Zhou dynasty funerary figure, flat backed, wearing red knee length tunic with wide white collar, over black flowing trousers. Both arms crooked at the elbow, both hands clenched, right drilled. Features depicted in black and red pigments framed by black leather type helmet. Very rare example; similar to examples excavated in 1983 from the tomb of Li Xian, general in Northern Zhou army (569) and his wife at Guyuan county, southern Ningxia Autonomous region, on display in Guyuan museum in regards rather misshapen physique, short neck and protruding abdomen.
