Ming Dynasty Musician Figure
1368-1643 A.D
Musician figure with left hand holding musical instrument, right in parallel position in front of stomach, wearing long green glazed tunic with amber side panels. Finely modelled features framed by tall conical red cap with brim.
'Mingqi' (funerary models) were intended to serve the deceased in the afterlife; generic representations of men and women continuing in eternity to play the roles which they established during their lifetime.
