    Large Green Faience Thoth, Threskiornis aethiopicus Amulet

    c. 600 B.C

    Ibis-headed human form Thoth, moon god, eventually associated with writing and knowledge and to preside over scribes and scholars of all types. Reputation for truth and integrity given presence at the weighing of the heart of the deceased during their judgment, therefore in wearing amulet wearer might hope to achieve these qualities and be seen to conduct their life in a manner 'straight and true like Thoth'.
