Rare Six Dynasties Pottery Horse
A.D 230-581
Powerfully modeled horse standing foursquare upon integral rectangular base, the prominent curved neck and centrally parted stylized mane giving way to downturned head, exquisitely detailed with wide alert eye beneath strong brow, flared nostrils, open mouth baring teeth, and red harness, surmounted by tall stylized forelock between tall pointy ears. Chest adorned with trappings suspending seven large conch-shaped tassels with floriate decoration, crimson saddle blanket with vermilion lapels surmounted by long widely flaring orange saddle blanket and saddle. Red trappings extending around rump suspending six tassels and covered with semi-globular rosettes with same floriate pattern.
A rare and unusual artefact, perfectly demonstrating the incredible skill of Six Dynasty artisan.
