    Small Gnathian Cup

    Late Fourth Century B.C

    Smooth pale brown clay, metallic black gloss. Rounded bowl of medium depth, tall slightly conical foot with double base moulding, two thin rounded in section handles tilted upwards attached just below mouth. Incised and painted decoration consisting of band of incised tongues with white infills running between incised line perimeter, a second incised line beneath lower line forming branch from which incised vines and white painted grape clusters hang to just below mid-point, fewer vines on reverse.
