Buddha

Buddha means “one who has awakened”, in the school of Mahayana Buddhism, of which ancient Gandhara was a region of, emphasis is given to the importance of recognition of the buddha-nature that is present within all beings. Buddha in this sense can be distinguished from Shakyamuni Buddha which is a term relating to the historical Buddha.
