Green Glaze
The ancient Egyptians use of green ceramic can be seen in their faience artefacts, commonly amulets and shabti figures, of which green was the first colour to be employed and was used to imitate precious stones. Similarly, in Chinese ceramics, the use of celadon glaze, such as in Yaozhou wares, is used to imitate the qualities of jade.
