Caesar Augustus
Caesar Augustus is known throughout history as one of the greatest Roman leaders, ruling from 27 BC to AD 14. He was the first leader of the Roman Principate, forming the first phase of the Roman Empire. Initially name Gaius Octavius, he was related to Julius Caesar, who eventually adopted him as his heir. Following Julius Caesar’s death, Octavius inherited his estate and would succeed in becoming Imperator, granted by the Senate. He was married to the formidable Livia Drusilla and had one biological daughter, Julia the Elder, with his second wife Scribonia. He legally adopted Livia Drusilla’s sons, Tiberius and Nero.
