Garnet
A translucent red gem with violent or brown tint. Garnet was popular in the Ancient Egyptian world, being often found only in small stones, Garnet was used by the Ancient Egyptians for fine necklaces. In Greek and Roman mythology Hades gave pomegranate seeds to Persephone as a token of safety. Pomegranate seeds were often associated with the garnet stone, becoming typical gifts given upon departure for travel. When given in this context, Garnet is believed to grant quick, safe returns and traverse the emotional distance between separated lovers.
