Jasper

In Ancient Egypt, as in many cultures, the use of stones was often prescribed according to quite particular symbolic or amuletic significance according to the aesthetic of the stone. Particularly in funerary jewellery, certain stones were used strictly according to the magical properties of their colouring. Thus Chapter 156 of the Book of the Dead required an amulet of Red Jasper whose blood like colouring would enhance the spell: “You have your blood, Isis; you have your power.” It was linked to fertility, as it was named the fertilising blood of Mother Isis. Jaspers have been revered by ancient peoples and civilisations throughout the world as sacred and powerful stones of protection, for both the physical and spiritual realm.
