A selection of hollow-mould terracotta Chinese Tang period statuettes of male court attendant, portrayed standing with the right hand held to the chest. The figures are shown wearing the traditional Tang Dynasty court attire, comprising a long robe with an upper-garment with long sleeves, and a headgear. The original white, red and black pigments are still visible to the statuettes’ surface. Such colours would have been applied after firing, with the result that they would have been more prone to flaking.
