A green glazed faience amulet of a hare, crouching on a square base. Depicted with large ears, which extend back from the head and resting on an attachment to the back. The amulet is pierced horizontally for suspension.

Amulets were worn by the ancient Egyptians during life and once deceased. The living wore a limited number, hoping to imbibe themselves with the amulets connotations. Hares were found abundantly within the Egyptian desert and were thus associated with fertility.
