Egyptian Faience Pharaoh Amulet

A delicate pharaoh amulet made from green faience and carved with fine details. The figure stands on a rectangular plinth with one leg forward and a pillar at his back. He wears a false pharaonic beard and the double crown of Egypt. Pierced in-between the back of the head and crown for suspension.

The double crown, also called the Pschent, was worn by the rulers of Ancient Egypt to represent the unification of Lower and Upper Egypt. The crown was composed of two parts: the red Deshret Crown of Lower Egypt, and the white Hedjet Crown of Upper Egypt.
