The La Tène culture takes place in Europe during the last phase of the Iron Age, between the 5th century BC and the Roman domination of the Gaul, in the second half of the 1st century BC. The creation of tools and everyday objects during that period is characterized by simple, geometrical or symmetrical designs.
Selection of Two Celtic Toggles
A selection of Celtic La Tene culture bronze toggles of elongated shape, featuring some fine light patination. Such toggles would have been used by the Celts to fasten one section of clothing to another before the use of buttons, and are an original glimpse into in the daily life of men and women of Antiquity.
