Roman Bronze Furniture Handle

£ 225.00

A Roman furniture handle made of bronze, with decorative mythical beast head terminals. The bronze handle would have originally been attached to something, although it is very hard to ascertain what this may have been. The two mythical animals are symmetrical in form and give the handle a sense of animation.

Date: Circa 2nd-4th century AD
Condition: Very fine with a beatiful green patina on the surface.
