Hard Stone

Hardstone, being somewhat synonymous with semi-precious stone or gemstone, refers to stones of a relative hardness that are typically carved for use in jewellery or amulets. Examples of which include jade, agate, onyx, quartz and carnelian. Many of these types of stones were carved by the ancient Egyptians to form precious amulets.
