Psyche

Psyche, the mythological lover of Cupid, is known in both Greek and Roman Mythology. The most famous of tales being that of the Golden Ass, in which the tale of Cupid and Psyche is recounted. She was considered the most beautiful of women, her beauty rivalling the goddess Venus. Set nearly impossible tasks in a bid to win the goddess’s favour, Psyche is turned immortal at the beseechment of Cupid to Jupiter. The two lovers are thus united in immortality.
